'Nine Words Women Use - My sister sent this to me today! LOL'   Posted: 5/13/2010

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

provided to my my sister today in an email! She's Great!

(1) Fine:

This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes:

If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five
minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing:

This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead:

This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh:

This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about
nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay:

This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks:

A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever:

Is a woman's way of saying F--- YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I'll do it :

Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is
now doing herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

'I got this in an Email today!! Think about it are you enlightened?''   Posted: 4/11/2010

I was confused when I heard the word 'service'  used with these agencies..
Internal Revenue
'Service'
U.S. Postal
'Service'
Telephone
'Service'
Cable TV 'Service'
Civil
'Service'
State, City, County & Public
'Service'
Customer
'Service'
This is not what I thought 'service' meant.
But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'service' a few cows. BAM!!!  It all came into focus. Now  I understand what all those agencies are doing to us.

Now you are as enlightened as I am?

We have a new arrival at our house!  It is one of those iPad!

Ok if you've not tried one of these devices then you'll need to stay away from them.  This is because as soon as you start using one you'll fall in love with it!  11 hour first full run from 100% to 0%, 3 movies streaming from Netflix, lots of web surfing, ftp and web site updates and reading a lot!

Finally this week we have completed the By Products Bin Replacement project.  Thanks go out to John Roark (GMW), Robert Hill (Scott Electric) and all the others that helped in getting this job done!

Also my thanks goes out to Paul Harris (Mars Food US) for giving me the opportunity to manage this project and Tom Garrett (Mars Food US) for keeping the controls and electrical side of things in order.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Ole Miss Going Galactic?

Ole Miss students voted this week to have a voice in the creation of a new mascot to roam the sidelines of athletic events.  Colonel Reb was put out to pasture in 2003 and the school has now decided to open up the dialogue of coming up with a new idea.  One idea that was initially a joke but now has gained considerable traction is the idea of using Admiral Ackbar of Star Wars fame as the new mascot.  Granted this would require George Lucas to allow the university to use a character from his movie as well as having the university community as a whole adopt the idea could be large hurdles.  I think it is a great idea because what else better illustrates the whole situation and makes it fun.  Here you have an alien creature from a very popular movie as your mascot that everybody can get a kick out of.  It is a win win on all levels.  There is no way anyone could be offended by a this character who is from Mon Calamari because he is fictional and represents nothing that could be construed as derogatory to any social group.  He in essence is a perfect fit in the PC world we live in now.  I am all for it because the whole process is worthy of something like this as the end result.

During a recent password audit at a large company, it was found
that a blonde receptionist was using the following password:

"MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento"

When asked why she had such a long password, she said she was
told that it had to be at least 8 characters long and include at least one
capital.

'Rules all Data Should Live By! Cobb's Rules'   Posted: 12/8/2009

Rule 1: The Information Rule
All data should be presented to the user in table form.

Rule 2: Guaranteed Access Rule
All data should be accessible without ambiguity. This can be accomplished through a combination of the table name, primary key, and column name.

Rule 3: Systematic Treatment of Null Values
A field should be allowed to remain empty. This involves the support of a null value, which is distinct from an empty string or a number with a value of zero. Of course, this can't apply to primary keys. In addition, most database implementations support the concept of a nun- null field constraint that prevents null values in a specific table column.

Rule 4: Dynamic On-Line Catalog Based on the Relational Model A relational database must provide access to its structure through the same tools that are used to access the data. This is usually accomplished by storing the structure definition within special system tables.

Rule 5: Comprehensive Data Sublanguage Rule
The database must support at least one clearly defined language that includes functionality for data definition, data manipulation, data integrity, and database transaction control. All commercial relational databases use forms of the standard SQL (Structured Query Language) as their supported comprehensive language.

Rule 6: View Updating Rule
Data can be presented to the user in different logical combinations, called views. Each view should support the same full range of data manipulation that direct-access to a table has available. In practice, providing update and delete access to logical views is difficult and is not fully supported by any current database.

Rule 7: High-level Insert, Update, and Delete
Data can be retrieved from a relational database in sets constructed of data from multiple rows and/or multiple tables. This rule states that insert, update, and delete operations should be supported for any retrievable set rather than just for a single row in a single table.

Rule 8: Physical Data Independence
The user is isolated from the physical method of storing and retrieving information from the database. Changes can be made to the underlying architecture ( hardware, disk storage methods ) without affecting how the user accesses it.

Rule 9: Logical Data Independence
How a user views data should not change when the logical structure (tables structure) of the database changes. This rule is particularly difficult to satisfy. Most databases rely on strong ties between the user view of the data and the actual structure of the underlying tables.

Rule 10: Integrity Independence
The database language (like SQL) should support constraints on user input that maintain database integrity. This rule is not fully implemented by most major vendors. At a minimum, all databases do preserve two constraints through SQL.

  • No component of a primary key can have a null value. (see rule 3)
  • If a foreign key is defined in one table, any value in it must exist as a primary key in another table.

Rule 11: Distribution Independence
A user should be totally unaware of whether or not the database is distributed (whether parts of the database exist in multiple locations). A variety of reasons make this rule difficult to implement; I will spend time addressing these reasons when we discuss distributed databases.

Rule 12: Nonsubversion Rule
There should be no way to modify the database structure other than through the multiple row database language (like SQL). Most databases today support administrative tools that allow some direct manipulation of the datastructure.

'Today is a sad day for me!'   Posted: 11/28/2009

Today after a great thanksgiving we came home from Biloxi and discovered that Gracie had passed in her favorite spot in the middle yard ivy bed.  She had her spot where she would lay to sun!  We found her in a peaceful state! It upset Jarrett, our youngest son, because that was his dog!  Now Gracie joins Corkey, Little Bit and Prissy.  Gracie holds a dear place in my heart because she had two litters of pups and both times I was the one who she came to!  I stayed with her and made sure she and the pups were ok!  She was a loving dog!  I will miss not seeing and holding her!  There are some things in our lives that touch us and this is one for me!  She will be missed!  I know that she will be missed by our remaining dogs (Oscar, Nickey, Anna Bell, Dasiy May and Aspen).  Gracie was the mother of Anna Bell, Dasiy May and Aspen.  Nickey was the father!

  'Sad Day today!'   Posted: 11/6/2009

It's a sad day today because of the Fort Hood (yesterday) and Orlando killings (today)!

The one's who did these terrible things need to be put away for the rest of their life!!!!  Killing them would be to good!  They need to have limited life and be caged like wild animals!  They can be forgiven but that does not free them from suffering a life of pain and hurt!  Because all of the lives that they affected by this act demands that it be that way!

I pray for those family and loved ones as they grieve!  I pray for those who survived these shootings that they have a quick recovery and the pain they have endured is released!
